This Much I Know

_Maintaining friendships does take a lot of work. But the truest of friendships are the ones you can pick up where you left off, regardless of time passed in between. That being said, despite there being 6.7 billion people on this planet (and counting), it is often difficult to find people you are able to relate to and be yourself with. So, when you do find them, hang on to them for as long as you can.

_The purpose of your degree is to get you your first job; the purpose of your first job is to get you your next job.

_The best nights out, painting the town red, are the ones you didn't plan.

_I was heartbroken when I had to sell my tickets to Coldplay's concert in Singers earlier this year. I haven't been able to listen to Coldplay since then without feeling a deep stabbing pain in my heart, and thus have stopped listening to them all together.

_In the service sector, it always pays to be nice; I have met so many people who’ve ended up having to service a former subordinate of theirs (who they weren’t so nice to) who left their jobs only to end up as their client (who it will hurt to be nice to.)

_Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid having to interact with stupid people on a daily basis.

_If you ever find that perfect pair of jeans / perfect little black dress / perfect white shirt / perfect stilettoes, do consider buying 2 of them to avoid the inevitable remorse when the one pair you bought gets lost / falls apart / gets mixed up in the laundry with an unfortunate red sock.

_Cancer can happen to anyone; and that’s no one’s fault.

__Two simple rules to faking great style: (1)When in doubt, wear black; and (2) invest in your hair – it’s the one thing you wear everyday.

_Buy a digital camera and take lots of pictures of your life. Because, before you know it, time will pass, you will indeed grow old and senile, and one day ask yourself, “What did I spend the last 10 years doing?”

_Singing U2's With or Without You at karaoke after a couple drinks at the top of your lungs and arm in arm with your colleagues will definitely make you look differently at your workmates on Monday morning.

_ I may be no Nigella in the kitchen, but I do have 3 never fail recipes in my arsenal that I’ve perfected for those few occasions I am required to cook: The Morning After Breakfast (Scrambled Eggs), The Potluck Party Dish (Mexican Layered Dip) and The Deceptively Easy but Impressive Dinner (Spaghetti alla puttanesca).

_London, arguably the antithesis of KL, is probably my favorite city in the world. But as much as people complain about KL, (and by people, I mean me), it still feels like home.

_Passion is wonderful and exciting, but fleeting. Intimacy, on the other hand, lasts.

_You can trundle along in life, watch opportunities pass you by, and still do relatively okay. Or, you can identify the opportunity, grab it by the horns, ride it till the cows come home, and do exceedingly well.
